After this, Every Duke stayed here on their way of SANKIN KOTAI, to or from EDO.The 8th SHOGUN YOSHIMUNE spent almost all childhood here.

From here, you can get a full view of HAKOYAMA Mountain, RYUMONZAN Mountain(called as KISHU- FUJI) and KINOKAWA River.
In those days, as the name of Iwa(rock )-de(exposed) shows, there were quite many shapes of rocks popped out from the River.

Besides, in those days, lot’s of rafts that carrying woods came up and down the River, as a distinguished wood producing district(ex. YOSHINO, NARA) were up the River.
Ferrymen handled rafts with one bamboo pole, moving quickly from side to side on the rafts, jumping up in the air on the pole end to change the direction, then transferred the stream between KINOKAWA and KISHIGAWA, as at this point of GOTEN they merged.

In 1764, the Palace was pulled down, was moved to OSAKA, then finally moved to SANKEIEN, YOKOHAMA
The building was named as RINSHUNKAKU, and designated a National Important Culture Property, and keeping the figure used to be.

After the pulling down, this place had been called as GOTEN-YAMA, opened to the villagers as a park.

But flood damage occurred repeatedly, the rocks and GOTEN-YAMA were got rid of, to expand the width of the River , so the distinguished beautiful scenic was gone away.
