Manor houses

Village head man’s mansions are carefully preserved and still in part of them, they live.
Above all, Masuda family’s mansion was designated as one of the national important cultural property in 1969.

Masuda Family, Village Head Man’s mansion

In Edo period, this family had been the head man of 20 properties here around.
From Iwade station(JR), on the North West , 2km ahead at SOYA.
Built in 1706, large building is carefully constructed.
In 1969, Main Hall and Nagamon -gate were designated National Important Cultural Properties.
The oldest manor house in Wakayama.

Long gate with “Namako -bei”, faced on Monzencho Hondouri is quite marvelous with its white wall on it.
Built in 1797, designated a Cultural Property of the City in 1967.
Imposing atmosphere of this wealthy farmer’s mansion shows the vestige of the glory in those days.

Momoi Family , Village Head Man’s mansion

Momoi Family , Village Head Man’s mansion

This family took turns of Head Man with Masuda Family, built in 1754.
This construction is similar to Masuda, representative house as a wealthy farmer.
Main Hall was designated in 1967, a Cultural Property of the City.
