Traditional Entertainments

Above all , Gun Unit(called as Teppo-Tai at Negoro), Lullaby of Negoro are very famous.
With these entertainments, we communicate in and out of Prefecture, protecting and expanding these historical cultures.

Negoro Teppo Tai(Gun Unit)

Negoro was the birthplace of guns in Mainland Japan which were introduced by Portugal.
One day, Comrade in this city, gathered together and tried to take a fresh look on the history and the culture of Negoro.
!n 1988, they started their activity.
Every year, in and out of Prefecture, they participate in every event, showing their ancient gunnery instruction.
They act to spread the culture and history to every prefectures.

Lullaby of Negoro

This lullaby began to be sung around in Edo period.
Mainly was sung around Negoro , then along side Kinokawa River area to Arida area.
Lyrics are mainly about Negoro Temple and the history, and this is handled down from generation to generation.
Recently, “ the society to conserve the lullaby of Negoro” is acting to leave this important  traditional culture.
“Lullaby Summit & Festa” is held in turn, at the birthplaces of lullaby , and doing its role.

Iwade Goten (Palace) mai(dance)

This is a newly created entertainment on classic.
At the beginning, Sanbasou starts, then it moves to bell passage, and 8 dragons dances. 
Gradually the dragons go back to their place and Kinokawa River gets back in peace.
Finally, village festival is shown with folksong of Iwade.
Started in 1996, now they are acting in every events.
